The Barstow Station Cinema opened as a "State of the Art" four-screen theater on August 8th, 1985 and was attended by many dignitaries dressed in Tuxedos and Sequined gowns. The opening movies were "Back To The Future", "E.T, The Extra Terrestrial", "Pale Rider" and "Mad MAx Beyond Thunderdome". At the time general admission was $4 and children 11 and under $2.
Today it is a 6 screen multiplex showing current digital movies, streaming live events, big screen classics and more. Less of a social event and more of an evening with family and friends or a special someone.
